Since January 2, 2023, the crime series Crime Scene \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice<\/a> has been airing on Czech Television. The series has 13 episodes, and although the largest South Bohemian city is in the title, you will also see other, smaller towns and landscapes typical of our region in the series.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cDespite the series bearing the name of the South Bohemian metropolis in its title, it will not be a classic urban detective story. On the contrary, our aim is to spend as much time as possible outdoors in the landscape or in smaller towns and to showcase iconic places associated with the region. The picturesque beauty and tranquility of the South Bohemian landscape are contrasted with crime, mostly trivial, brutal, and unnecessary,\u201d<\/em> explains Jan Leke\u0161, creative producer of Czech Television.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Crime Scene series has already visited the Plze\u0148 and Moravian-Silesian regions. Now it’s the turn of the South Bohemian region. <\/p>\n\n

Will we really see more than just \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice?<\/h2>\n\n

\u201cWe filmed truly all over the region. We started in \u0160umava, but we were in T\u00e1bor, T\u0159ebo\u0148, \u010cesk\u00e9 Bud\u011bjovice, on the right bank of Lipno, on the border with Bavaria at \u0160umava’s Dreisessel, in the beautiful meanders of the Vltava River near D\u00edv\u010d\u00ed K\u00e1men Castle, in iconic Krumlov, among moldavite seekers, in a desolate landscape scarred by mining activity. In two episodes, we will also visit the famous South Bohemian castles, Blatn\u00e1 and Hlubok\u00e1 nad Vltavou. Some of the episodes are again based on real criminal cases. We found that South Bohemia is calmer from a criminalistic point of view. The entire filming lasted from October 5, 2021, to July 7, 2022. During August, we filmed one more scene in \u0160umava’s Bu\u010dina (Buchwald). In total, we spent a long but beautiful 103 filming days with the crew. A large majority of them, around 70%, were carried out precisely at locations in South Bohemia. The impression will thus be truly authentic. Everywhere we met with a warm welcome from local residents and willing cooperation during filming, and our project was financially supported by the South Bohemian Region.\u201d <\/em>Author of the concept and producer Martin Froyda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

He also added \u201cWe deliberately chose South Bohemia to create a sharp contrast with the distinctly raw Ostrava.<\/em>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n
